Position Title: Director 

Location: Milltown, Wisconsin 

Position Overview: The Director of the Childcare Facility is a pivotal role responsible for the comprehensive management and operational oversight of our childcare facility. This position requires a dynamic and dedicated leader with a passion for early childhood education, ensuring the delivery of high-quality care and educational programs. The Director will ensure the facility operates in strict compliance with the State of Wisconsin's licensing requirements, including educational and certification standards for staff. The role involves managing daily operations, staff scheduling and development, financial management, and serving as the primary liaison with state licensing bodies, community partners, and vendors. 

Key Responsibilities: 

  • Operational Management: Oversee the day-to-day operations of the childcare facility, ensuring a safe, nurturing, and stimulating environment for children. Implement policies and procedures that promote high-quality educational programs and care. 
  • Staff Management: Calculate and manage staff schedules to ensure adequate coverage and compliance with child-to-staff ratios as per state regulations. Approve time-off requests, conduct performance reviews, and provide ongoing training and professional development opportunities for staff. 
  • Financial Oversight: Manage the facility's budget, including payroll, operational expenses, and vendor contracts. Apply for grants, financial aid, and other funding opportunities to support facility operations and program enhancements. 
  • Regulatory Compliance: Act as the primary liaison to the State of Wisconsin and other licensing bodies. Ensure the facility maintains its license and adheres to all state regulations regarding staff qualifications and facility operations. Keep abreast of changes in regulations and implement necessary adjustments to policies and practices. 
  • Staff Recruitment and Development: Provide recommendations on hiring and actively participate in the interview process in collaboration with Schaffer Manufacturing's Human Resources department. Foster a culture of continuous improvement and professional growth among staff. 
  • Community and Parent Engagement: Develop and maintain positive relationships with parents, community partners, and stakeholders. Communicate effectively with parents about their children's progress and the center's programs. 

Required Qualifications: 

  • Bachelor's Degree in Early Childhood Education, Child Development, or related field, as per the State of Wisconsin's requirements for childcare center directors. 
  • Must be at least 21 years of age.
  • Must possess or be willing to obtain the necessary Director Certification as required by the State of Wisconsin. 
  • A minimum of three years of experience in a leadership role within a childcare or educational setting. 
  • Demonstrated knowledge of the standards and regulations governing childcare facilities in Wisconsin. 
  • Strong leadership, organizational, and communication skills. 
  • Ability to work collaboratively with staff, parents, and community partners. 
  • Proficiency in financial management, including budgeting and grant writing. 

Preferred Qualifications: 

  • Master's Degree in Early Childhood Education or related field. 
  • Previous experience in applying for and managing grants and other financial aids. 
  • Experience in curriculum development and staff training in an early childhood education setting.
